The Tree

American Ash trees reach a height of 24 meters and a width of 13.5 meters when fully matured. The trees are easy to plant and cultivate. American Ash is a forest tree that commonly occurs alongside Maple. The tree has a mast crop every 11 years.

The Timber

The heartwood is a light brown colour, thou darker shades can also be seen. It has a straight and regular grain although sometimes moderately curly or figured boards can be found. The timber produces good results with hand or machine tools and responds well to steam bending. It glues,   stains and finishes well and nails with ease. It is excellent for turning

Uses

Furniture, flooring, doors, architectural interiors, high end joinery and mouldings. It has also become popular in the construction of electric guitars. It is an attractive and versatile timber for a vast range of interior applications.
