The Tree

The Eucalyptus sideroxylon tree is a small to medium sized or occasionally tall tree. The bark is hard, deeply furrowed and rough ranging from a dark grey to a black hue.

The Timber

The timber’s texture is fine and even with an interlocked grain It is extremely hardwearing and highly durable. It is hard to work but polishes to a high sheen. It paints and polishes well.

Uses

It is used for decking and flooring, outdoor furniture, fencing, landscaping and retaining walls.
